「Ocean Echo −音響測定艦 ひびき−」
“Ocean Echo -Ocean Surveillance Ship JS Hibiki-” 「ひびき」（JS Hibiki, AOS-5201）は、ひびき型音響測定艦のネームシップです。関門海峡北西の響灘から命名されました。灘の名前が艦名として命名された、初めての海上自衛隊艦艇です。
本作品は、音響測定艦 「ひびき」 の乗組員からオーダー頂き、防衛機密に差し支えない範囲で意見交換しつつ、描き上げました。 隠密行動艦である同艦が、どこかの海域で人知れず働いている様子です。甲板でランニングする非番の乗組員や艦のディテール等、多くのこだわりが込められています。また1羽のカツオドリには、ご依頼主の思いが込められています。タイトルの「Ocean Echo」は、同艦のニックネームです。
JS Hibiki (AOS-5201) is the name ship of the Hibiki class ocean surveillance ship. She was named after the Hibikinada Sea northwest of the Kanmon Straits. This is the first time that the Nada (difficult-to-navigate waters) has been named for a Maritime Self-Defense Force vessel.
This work was ordered by the crew of the Hibiki and drawn while exchanging opinions within the bounds of confidentiality. This work depicts the covert action ship Hibiki working in the sea somewhere, unnoticed. Many details of the ship and the off-duty crew running on the deck were carefully considered. Also, one gannet represents the client's thoughts and feelings. The title "Ocean Echo" is the nickname of the ship.
