“Conquering Wolf of the Sea -Heavy Cruiser Nachi 2603-”

　作品は、アッツ島沖海戦後に修理と改装を終えて再び北方海域に戻った「那智」が、操艦訓練を行っているシーンをイメージして描いたものです。昭和18年9月20日に撮影された写真を参考にして、制作しました。背景の靄がかかる島は、幌筵島です。本作品は、令和元年11月24日、同艦の艦内神社分霊元である「熊野那智大社」へ奉納されました。

This work depicts a scene where the Nachi is undergoing maneuvering training after returning to the northern waters again after repairs and refit after the Battle of the Komandorski Islands. I drew this picture based on photographs of Nachi taken on September 20, 1943. The misty island in the background is Paramushir Island. This work was dedicated to Kumano Nachi-taisha Shrine on November 24, 2019, which divided the divine spirit among the shrines on board the Nachi.
