「眞鐵の艨艟 -戦艦 攝津 2572-」
“The Warship Armed in Steel -Battleship Settsu 2572-”「攝津」は、最初で最後の国産ド級戦艦（厳密には準ド級）河内型の2番艦です。初の国産戦艦である薩摩型が約60％を輸入品に頼っていたのに対し、河内型では輸入依存率が約20％にまで抑えられていました。大正8（1919）年の海軍大演習では、御召艦となる栄誉を得ました。第一次世界大戦では、主力艦として実戦を経験しました。ワシントン海軍軍縮条約締結後は全武装を撤去し、無線操作で航行できる標的艦に改造され、艦隊の砲撃訓練や航空隊の爆撃訓練などに大いに貢献しました。その後、大東亜戦争が勃発するも、艦の運用目的上日本を離れることなく、昭和20（1945）年7月24日のアメリカ艦載機による呉空襲で大破着底し、33年に及ぶその生涯を終えました。
The Kawachi class battleships were the first and the last domestic Dreadnoughts.
The Settsu was the second of the Kawachi class. (They could be considered
a semi-Dreadnought) The first Japanese built ship, the Satsuma, had about
60% foreign parts, but with the Kawachi class this had fallen to about
20%. In the Naval exercises of Taisho 8 (1919), she had the honor of hosting
His Imperial Majesty on board. Due to the stipulations of the Washington
Naval Treaty, she was disarmed, but still performed valuable service as
a radio-controlled target ship for surface and aerial attacks. In the July
20, Showa 20 (1945) mass air attack on Kure, near the end of the Greater
East Asian War (the Pacific War), she was grounded, ending 33 years of
service.
