　SH-60Kは、海上自衛隊がSH-60Jを基にして、三菱重工業と防衛庁で独自に改造開発を行い、更なる哨戒能力向上を目指した哨戒ヘリコプターです。その主要任務は、対潜戦、対水上戦、警戒、監視、輸送及び救難、通信中継等で、着艦誘導支援装置も装備しています。
　作品は、SH-60K（50番機）が荒れる洋上で激しくピッチングするあさぎり型護衛艦へ、機体下部からワイヤーを降ろし艦側のベアトラップ（HHRSD）と接続して着艦する、ホールダウンランディングを試みているシーンを描いたものです。

The SH-60K is a patrol helicopter based on the SH60J, which was independently modified and developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and the Japan Defense Agency to further improve patrol capabilities. Its primary missions include anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, warning, surveillance, transport and rescue, and communications relay, and it is also equipped with a landing guidance support system.
This work depicts a scene in which an SH-60K (No. 50) is landing on an Asagiri class destroyer, which is pitching heavily in rough seas, by lowering a wire from the lower fuselage and connecting it to a beartrap (HHRSD) on the ship’s side (so-called “hauldown landing”).
