「眞鐵の艨艟 −一等戦艦敷島 2565−」

“The Warship Armed in Steel -Battleship Shikishima 2565-”

　この作品は、明治38年5月27日の日本海海戦のワンシーンをイメージして描いたものです。旗艦の一等戦艦「三笠」に続き、敵前で回頭中の「敷島」です。艦首に張り出すように魚雷発射管が装備されているため、艦首波が高く立ち上がっています。後方に続くのは、一等戦艦「富士」で、更に艦首側背景に見えるのは、第二艦隊旗艦の一等巡洋艦「出雲」です。

This picture shows one scene from the Battle of Tsushima on May 27, 1905. The Shikishima is turning after the Mikasa, followed by the battleship Fuji. The bow wave rises high because the torpedo tube is equipped so that it overhangs the bow of the ship. Off the bow, the flagship of the Second Fleet, Izumo is visible.
